    Angels great Garret Anderson, the team’s all-time hits leader, passed away on Thursday. The 53-year-old had a medical emergency at his Newport Beach, California, residence. During the service request, dispatch audio shows a male who is unconscious. Born and reared in Los Angeles, Anderson was selected by the Angels in the 1990 draft. He played for the major league team from 1994 to 2008, becoming as one of the team’s best players ever. In Anaheim, Garret achieved great success on both a personal and team level. He was named to three All-Star teams and won a World Series in 2002.
