AMIRI FW26 Embodies Laurel Canyon’s Eternal Rhythm

SummaryAMIRI FW26 draws on Laurel Canyon’s 1970s counterculture, blending LA music heritage with modern American luxury.Informal tailoring and hybrid styling blur gender lines, with western wear, leather and embroidered knits reimaginedAMIRI’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, just unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, marks a sophisticated return to the brand’s roots, drawing deep inspiration from the creative sanctuary of Laurel Canyon. Presented in a show space designed to mimic a luxurious Laurel Canyon den, the collection reaffirms a distinct AMIRI language: one where elegance is stripped of its rigidity and replaced with a sincere, sophisticated ease.Creative Director Mike Amiri looked to the Hollywood Hills and the 1970s counterculture movement to translate LA music heritage into a vision of modern American luxury. The theme centers on an "informal approach to tailoring," imagining how artists inhabit their clothes with a sense of "lived-in" nonchalance. This season emphasizes an intimate, authentic reality over performance-heavy spectacle, bridging the gap between a performer's stage presence and their off-duty, daily life. The collection highlights a refined wardrobe of American classics, including western wear, officer jackets and premium leather, all elevated by meticulous Californian savoir-faire. Key pieces feature hybrid styling that blurs gender lines, such as "boyfriend suits" shared between wardrobes and delicate embroidered knits that transition from her closet to his. Accessories and footwear also saw significant updates, particularly the recalibration of AMIRI’s iconic western boots and the reconsideration of signature handbags like the Honey and the East-West Pouchette clutch.Color and texture play a vital role in grounding the collection’s nostalgic yet contemporary sensibility. The palette is "hazed with nostalgia," featuring deep merlot, burgundy, sage and mint greens alongside bright blues. Formalwear is reimagined with real American proportions, where blazers are effortlessly paired with Henleys and denim, rather than traditional dress shirts. Notable artisanal details include jeans flocked with rich velvet and subtle embroideries that Mike Amiri describes as "punctuation rather than embellishment," intended to be appreciated up close.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
