URWERK unveils the one-of-a-kind UR-1001 Amadeus titanium pocket watch.Features 500 hours of hand-engraving by master artisan Florian Güllert.Displays time, satellite calendar, service intervals and a 1,000-year millennium indicator.

URWERK has unveiled the UR‑1001 Amadeus, a one‑of‑a‑kind pocket watch that pushes the boundaries of horology both mechanically and artistically. Conceived as a “Zeit Device,” it spans every imaginable scale of time, from fleeting seconds to millennia, mapping temporal flow rather than simply measuring it. Its nickname, "Amadeus," pays tribute to the extravagant, avant-garde spirit of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, housing its ultra-complex mechanism inside a heavily decorated, baroque-style case.On the dial side, the watch features URWERK’s signature satellite hours with retrograde minutes, an orbital annual calendar, and a hand‑painted day/night disc. A power reserve indicator completes the front display. The reverse side extends the concept of time further, with an “Oil Change” service counter, a 100‑year odometer, and a millennium indicator that advances so slowly it challenges perception itself. Beneath this architecture lies the Calibre UR‑10.01, a 51‑jewel movement beating at 28,800 vph, equipped with a retrograde mechanism and shock‑absorbing safety system. The defining highlight of the UR-1001 Amadeus is its raw titanium case, measuring 106mm by 62mm and 23mm thick, which was transformed into a hand-engraved sculpture by Bavarian master engraver Florian Güllert. Every surface of the titanium case has been hand‑engraved over 500 hours, with arabesques and reliefs that blur the line between decoration and structure. As URWERK co‑founder Felix Baumgartner explains, the lavishness of the piece inspired its nickname “Amadeus,” a tribute to Mozart’s avant‑garde spirit. This singular creation stands as both a horological experiment and a timeless sculpture, intended less as ownership than custodianship across generations.Flipped over, the caseback offers a long-term temporal perspective via several specialized indicators, including an "Oil Change" display that tracks five-year service intervals. Alongside it sit an odometer-style 100-year counter and a linear 1,000-year millennium indicator whose progress moves so slowly that it is virtually imperceptible to the human eye. Powered by the 51-jewel, automatic Calibre UR-10.01 featuring a unidirectional rotor and a shock-absorbing safety system, the UR-1001 Amadeus stands as a unique, museum-grade masterpiece of haute horology. The URWERK UR-1001 Amadeus pocket watch is a one-off special project.
