NAACP Image Award-winning actress Janelle James is stepping behind the camera for her next big comedy project. The actress and comedian is set to write and executive produce the upcoming comedy ‘Rock City,’ with acclaimed writer-producer David Caspe, currently in development at Hulu.

According to the synopsis originally reported by Deadline, the comedy will center on a woman “who returns to her hometown in the Virgin Islands after she inherits a local tourist trap from her estranged father but quickly realizes that she’s been left much more than a simple beachfront bar and grill.”

While additional character details and casting for the Universal Television project have not yet been announced, the series marks a reunion for James and Caspe, as James previously served as a writer and actor on Caspe’s Showtime dark comedy series ‘Black Monday.’
