Stanley Nwabali has dismissed speculation surrounding his next club, insisting he remains unconcerned about his immediate future after leaving Chippa United.

The Super Eagles goalkeeper parted ways with the South African side in February, months before his contract was due to expire, and is currently a free agent.

    Goalkeeper addresses uncertainty

Amid growing reports linking him with multiple clubs, Nwabali clarified that no deal is in place and described the circulating claims as speculation.

“So, there are rumours everywhere. Anyone talking about any club, it’s a rumour,” he said.

“When you see me signing for any club, then you will know from the day I’m going, or probably the day I’m wearing the club’s shirt.”

The 29-year-old maintained that he is keeping his options open.

“I’m not worried. I don’t really have a particular place or a particular country I want to play. So, anywhere that welcomes me well, I can play.”

    International implications

Nwabali’s situation comes at a critical time for his international career with Nigeria national football team.

He was not included by head coach Eric Chelle for recent friendlies, with Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho and Adebayo Adeleye preferred between the posts.

Failure to secure a new club in the coming weeks could further impact his chances of selection for upcoming fixtures, including the Unity Cup and high-profile friendlies later this year.

    Open market stance

Nwabali, a former Enyimba goalkeeper, has previously voiced concerns about conditions in domestic football, but remains focused on securing a move that aligns with his professional goals.
