While specific plot details are currently being kept tightly under wraps, Perkins will return to both write and direct the untitled picture. Cage is confirmed to return to star and produce, bringing back the terrifying on-screen presence that helped define the original feature.The expanded universe comes on the heels of the original 2024 film's staggering financial performance, where it grossed $128 million USD globally. For the new installment, production duties will be handled by Range Media Partners' Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, alongside Perkins and Chris Ferguson through their Phobos banner.
