    ‎Man Sues Landlord

Initially, a fellow Nigerian urged him against pursuing the lawsuit, citing potential bias in the judgement.

‎However, ahead of the lawsuit, he conducted a detailed research and recently graduated from law school.

‎Eventually, the judge handling the case found the landlord guilty and awarded a security deposit.

‎Despite emerging victorious in the lawsuit, he was disappointed because he couldn’t deliver a judicial reprimand.

‎”Only for the judge to say the landlord did wrong and awarded us the security deposit.I was a little disappointed because I want to give serious statement like a lawyer” He noted.

A screenshot attached to the now-viral tweet disclosed that the landlord was ordered to pay $1,475 to his tenants due to failure to comply with statutory notice requirements.

    It reads below….

The tribunal ordered the retrun of $1,475 from the security deposit to the tenants after the landlord failed to comply with the statutory notice requirement under the residential Tenancies act, 2006.

The landlord’s failure to provide timely notice forfeited their right to detain their deposit.
