Dallas Wings center Luisa Geiselsöder and guard/forward Haley Jones were selected by the Portland Fire in Friday’s WNBA Expansion Draft 2026 presented by State Street Investment Management SPY. Both Geiselsöder and Jones were reserved free agents for the Wings, with Portland acquiring their exclusive negotiating rights in the Expansion Draft.

Geiselsöder, who was picked in the first round of the Expansion Draft by Portland, was originally selected with the 21st pick by the Dallas Wings in the 2020 WNBA Draft but remained in Europe. Last year, the Germany native signed a training camp contract with the Wings, making her WNBA debut during the 2025 season. Geiselsöder appeared in 28 games for Dallas, averaging 6.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest. She missed the Wings’ final five contests in 2025 due to a shoulder injury.

Selected in the second round of the Expansion Draft by the Fire, Jones first joined the Wings on a hardship contract in June 2025, prior to signing a rest-of-season contract with the team on July 9. She appeared in 24 games for Dallas, started in 16 and averaged career bests of 8.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.8 steals per contest. Jones recorded a season-high 18 points on September 4 at the Golden State Valkyries and tallied a career-high 10 rebounds on August 24 against the Seattle Storm. The 6-1 guard-forward out of Stanford also recorded four consecutive games with 10+ points for the first time in her career (7/16 at Las Vegas, 7/22 at Seattle and 7/25 at Golden State and 7/27 vs. Las Vegas).

“The Expansion Draft is always a tough day for organizations,” said Dallas Wings Executive Vice President and General Manager Curt Miller. “While planning has been in place for months, the reality of losing players that you value and believe in is always difficult. Losing Luisa and Haley is no exception. Luisa and Haley contributed on and off the court to our culture and both have bright futures. We will miss them and wish them the best as they move onto Portland. Most importantly, we thank them for their time in Dallas.”

In addition to an unprecedented free agency period, up next for the Wings is the WNBA Draft 2026 presented by State Street Investment Management SPY on April 13. Dallas holds the No. 1 pick for the second consecutive year, along with the No. 31 overall selection.
