Ayo Edebiri is officially joining the voice cast of Bong Joon Ho’s highly anticipated animated feature debut, ‘Ally.’ She joins a star-studded ensemble that includes Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Finn Wolfhard, Alex Jayne Go, Rachel House, and Werner Herzog.

The film follows Ally, a piglet squid living in the deep terrain of the South Pacific Ocean who dreams of seeing the sun and becoming the star of a wildlife documentary. But when a mysterious aircraft sinks into the ocean, her peaceful world is shaken, launching Ally and her friends on a journey that takes them to the ocean’s surface.

‘Ally’ is co-written by Bong Joon Ho and Jason Yu, with Seo Woo-sik serving as producer. The project is expected to reach completion in early 2027, setting the stage for a global release later that year.

Neon is set to lead the North American theatrical release, while Pathé manages distribution across France, Benelux, Switzerland, and West Africa. CJ and Penture will oversee distribution in South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey, and Indonesia, with both companies coordinating international sales to bring Bong Joon Ho’s latest vision to audiences worldwide.
