A Nigerian lady has stirred emotional reactions online after breaking down in tears while sharing how her boyfriend ended their relationship on her convocation day.

In a viral video on X (formerly Twitter), the young woman was seen wearing her convocation gown and cap, visibly emotional as she recounted the painful experience that unfolded on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of her life.

According to her, the day was meant to be a moment of joy and celebration after years of hard work, but it quickly turned into one filled with heartbreak.

“Today is supposed to be my convocation. Today is supposed to be a very good day for me, and I’m meant to be happy all through today. But I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel right now. I feel very bad, I feel really weak because someone I’ve known for 7 years decided to send me a breakup message on my convocation day.,” she said.

She expressed confusion over her emotions, noting that the timing of the breakup made the situation even harder to process.

Despite the pain, the lady said she is determined not to let the incident completely ruin her special day, as she still intends to celebrate herself and her achievement.

“I know I’m not supposed to let anything come in between today. I’m supposed to wear that smile, go out there and act like I’m the happiest person today, because I know I owe myself that happiness,” she added.

Her story has since gone viral, with many social media users expressing sympathy and offering words of encouragement.

One user wrote, “That timing is actually wicked, just celebrate yourself and forget him.” Another added, “Don’t let him ruin your big day. You deserve better, honestly.”
