The Neo Frame Jumping Hour Leads Audemars Piguet’s Spring Timekeeping Novelties

At this year’s AP Social Club, Audemars Piguet invites its community to witness "Crafting Time," a celebration where innovation meets heritage and age-old skills unite with ever-advancing technology. This year, the Manufacture continues to evolve with timepieces that serve as bridges between the past and future, introducing a diverse array of spring novelties that explore new forms, materials, and next-generation calibres. From the revival of 1920s jumping hour mechanisms and the art of openworking to the use of cutting-edge materials like Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG), the collection pushes the boundaries of design and performance. Spanning the Royal Oak and Code 11.59  families, these creations challenge expectations and offer new ways to experience time, all while celebrating the enduring human touch and spirit of collaboration at the heart of the Manufacture.Read on for the full lineup and head over to AP's official website for more details regarding pricing and availability.Neo Frame Jumping HourAP pays tribute to its history of form watches with the Neo Frame Jumping Hour, a rectangular timepiece inspired by the "Streamline Moderne" pre-model 1271 from 1929. The watch features an 18-carat pink gold case flanked by aerodynamic gadroons and a black PVD-treated sapphire dial that exposes the digital hour display. To ensure a 20-meter water resistance without a traditional metal dial frame, the Maison developed a new technique where the dial plate is bonded directly to the sapphire crystal.Powering this model is the new Calibre 7122, the Maison’s first in-house self-winding jumping hour movement. Developed from the base Calibre 7121 used in "Jumbo" models, this mechanism features a patented shock-absorbing system that prevents the hour disc—crafted from titanium for durability — from jumping accidentally during impact. The movement offers a 52-hour power reserve and is finished with refined decorations visible through the sapphire caseback.Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph 38mmMarking a significant technical evolution for the mid-size line, the new Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph 38mm debuts the in-house Calibre 6401. This integrated chronograph movement replaces the long-standing Calibre 2385, offering a vertical clutch system, a 55-hour power reserve, and a more symmetrical dial layout with the date positioned between 4 and 5 o'clock. For the first time in the 38 mm collection, a sapphire caseback reveals the movement's openworked 22-carat gold oscillating weight and Côte de Genève finishings. The launch includes three distinct references that maintain the model's 11mm thickness despite the new movement. A stainless steel version features the iconic "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" Grande Tapisserie dial, paying homage to the original Royal Oak aesthetic. It is joined by two 18-carat pink gold models: one with a grey dial and beige counters for a warm, contemporary contrast, and another featuring a sand gold-toned dial with a diamond-set bezel for added brilliance.Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet SelfwindingExpanding the versatile 38mm range introduced in 2023, two new 18-carat pink gold variations of the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding have been released. These models emphasize elegant contrasts, with one reference pairing the warm gold case with a black embossed dial and matching alligator strap, while the second features a luminous silver-toned dial complemented by a brown calfskin strap. Both dials display the collection’s signature concentric circle motif, developed to play with light and depth.Inside, these timepieces are powered by Calibre 5900, a modern selfwinding movement that combines a slim 3.9 mm profile with a high frequency of 28,800vph. The movement provides a 60-hour power reserve and showcases refined decorations such as polished angles and vertical satin brushing through the sapphire caseback. These additions reinforce the 38 mm size as a staple of refined, unisex elegance within the Code 11.59 collection.Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon With Ivory-Toned DialThe latest 41mm Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon introduces a sophisticated aesthetic combining 18-carat white gold with a black ceramic case middle. The focal point is the ivory-toned dial featuring the collection's signature concentric ripple pattern, created in collaboration with guilloché artisan Yann von Kaenel. This pattern is punctuated by pink gold hands and hour markers, which offer a warm contrast against the cool ivory and black tones of the inner bezel and strap. At 6 o'clock, the flying tourbillon of Calibre 2950 rotates without an upper bridge, providing an unobstructed view of the regulating organ. This selfwinding movement, which debuted in the collection in 2019, offers a 65-hour power reserve and 3 Hz frequency. The complex case architecture, with its ceramic middle sandwiched between gold lugs and bezel, highlights the Manufacture's expertise in finishing diverse materials to the same high standard.Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Openworked 41mmThis reference marks the first-ever openworked perpetual calendar in the Code 11.59 collection, powered by the new in-house Calibre 7139. Measuring 41 mm in case size, the timepiece arrives in a two-tone case with a black ceramic middle and 18-carat white gold bezel and lugs, framing a sapphire dial that reveals the intricate, hand-finished movement beneath. The ergonomic Calibre 7139 introduces an innovative all-in-one crown correction system, allowing users to adjust the day, date, month, and moon phase without the need for recessed correctors or tools. The dial layout has been redesigned for intuitive reading, with the week indicated by a central hand and the calendar subdials arranged for visual harmony. A red "no-correction" zone on the 24-hour indicator protects the mechanism from damage during changeover cycles. The movement’s openworked bridges, finished with EDM technology and hand-polished V-angles, create a striking interplay of light and shadow, visible from both the dial and the sapphire caseback.Royal Oak Mini QuartzExpanding the Royal Oak Mini family launched in 2024, two new 23mm models introduce stone dials to the collection, shifting focus from gold finishing to gem-set artistry. The first model features an 18-carat pink gold case paired with a mirror-polished black onyx dial and diamond-set hour markers, creating a look of strength and contrast. The second reference combines an 18-carat yellow gold case with a luminous white mother-of-pearl dial, recalling the aesthetic of historic Royal Oak designs. Both timepieces are powered by the Calibre 2730 quartz movement, which offers an impressive battery life of over seven years and a "switch" function to preserve energy when stored. Despite being quartz-driven, the movement is finished with the same high standards as the Manufacture's mechanical calibres. These models forgo the Frosted Gold finish of previous iterations in favor of classic satin-brushed and polished surfaces, allowing the natural beauty of the stone dials to shine.Royal Oak Offshore DiverThe adventurous Royal Oak Offshore Diver 42mm returns with three vibrant new iterations that play with color and contrast. All three models feature stainless steel cases with two black ceramic crowns and are powered by the selfwinding Calibre 4308, which is water-resistant to 300 meters. The first two references sport black Méga Tapisserie dials with luminescent 0-15 minute dive zones in either pink or turquoise, paired with matching interchangeable rubber straps. The third variation offers a deep teal Méga Tapisserie dial, accented by pink gold luminescent hands and hour markers for a sophisticated touch. This model includes a white 0 - 15minute zone on the inner rotating bezel and touches of pink gold on the crown to reinforce the color scheme. These vibrant editions continue the Offshore Diver’s legacy of combining robust utility with expressive, sporty design.Royal Oak Selfwinding in Yellow Gold With Malachite DialAP introduces two new Royal Oak Selfwinding models crafted in 18-carat yellow gold, available in 37mm and 41mm sizes. These timepieces are distinguished by their vivid green malachite dials, where the stone’s natural copper content creates unique banded patterns that make each watch one-of-a-kind. The polished malachite surface is adorned with yellow gold applied hour-markers and hands, ensuring legibility while harmonizing with the case material. The 37mm version runs on Calibre 5909, while the 41mm model is equipped with Calibre 4309; both are high-performance selfwinding movements with 60 and 70 hours of power reserve, respectively. Following the turquoise dial releases of 2023, these malachite editions deepen the brand’s exploration of natural stone dials within the iconic Royal Oak framework.Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph 43mmTwo new 43mm Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronographs explore contemporary materials, blending titanium with ceramic for powerful contrasts. The first model features a "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" ceramic case - a tribute to the brand's heritage color - accented by titanium details and a beige Méga Tapisserie dial. The second model utilizes a titanium case with a black ceramic bezel, pushers, and crown, framing a smoked green PVD dial. Both chronographs are powered by the integrated flyback Calibre 4401, featuring a column wheel and vertical clutch for precise operation. The movement’s blackened oscillating weight is visible through the sapphire caseback, complementing the sporty, high-tech aesthetic of the cases. These models are paired with interchangeable straps - calfskin for the blue ceramic version and rubber for the titanium model - emphasizing versatility and rugged elegance.Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Openworked 39mmThe 39 mm Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Openworked showcases a sophisticated tone-on-tone aesthetic, pairing a titanium case with a bezel and studs made from Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG). This innovative material offers exceptional scratch resistance and a brilliant shine that contrasts with the matte titanium. The monochromatic look extends to the rhodium-toned openworked Calibre 7124, which is fully visible through the sapphire dial and caseback. To maintain readability against the intricate mechanical background, the watch features blackened 18-carat white gold hour-markers and hands filled with luminescent material. The movement itself is remarkably slim at 2.7 mm, allowing the case to maintain a slender 8.1 mm profile. This model exemplifies Audemars Piguet's mastery of openworking, stripping away material to reveal the beating heart of the watch while utilizing advanced materials for the exterior.Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked 37mmComplementing the high-tech materials of the 39 mm "Jumbo" release, the new Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked 37mm embraces a radiant, monochromatic aesthetic entirely crafted in 18-carat yellow gold. This warm precious metal extends from the case and integrated bracelet to the openworked dial, creating a seamless tone-on-tone effect that celebrates the Manufacture's artisanal heritage. To ensure optimal readability against the golden mechanical backdrop, the dial features silver-grey luminescent hour-markers and hands, while the sapphire caseback reveals a matching gold-toned oscillating weight to complete the visual harmony. At the heart of this timepiece beats the patented Calibre 3132, a selfwinding movement renowned for its double balance wheel mechanism first introduced by the Manufacture in 2016. This complex system incorporates two balance wheels and two hairsprings assembled on the same axis, a construction that significantly improves the watch's precision and stability. The intricate openworking of the movement allows light to pass through the 37mm case, highlighting the architectural depth and hand-finished details of the mechanism.Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Selfwinding 41mmThe latest 41mm Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Selfwinding presents a sophisticated union of heritage and high-tech material, featuring a case and bracelet crafted entirely from "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" ceramic. This deep blue shade, a signature color rooted in the brand's history, is enhanced by alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces, offering a lightweight yet robust architecture. The "Grande Tapisserie" dial continues the monochromatic aesthetic with blue counters and an inner bezel, contrasted by 18-carat white gold hour-markers for readability.Mechanically, this timepiece is powered by the Calibre 7138, a selfwinding movement that introduces a patented all-in-one crown adjustment system. This innovation allows users to correct the calendar functions directly via the crown without the need for tools, simplifying the user experience while protecting the mechanism from damage. The movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and provides a 55-hour power reserve, visible through the titanium and sapphire caseback.150 HeritageCelebrating a century and a half of excellence, the 150 Heritage is a limited-edition pocket watch that bridges astronomical observation with ultra-complicated watchmaking. Encased in hand-engraved platinum, it houses the hand-wound Calibre 1150, a mechanical marvel boasting 47 functions and 30 complications, including a Grande Sonnerie, minute repeater, flying tourbillon and a split-seconds flyback chronograph. The main dial features blue translucent Grand Feu enamel and hand-engraved 18-carat white gold Roman numerals, reflecting the highest standards of métiers d'art.A defining feature of this masterpiece is the Universal Calendar visible on the caseback — a mechanical calculator independent of the movement that tracks solar, lunar, and lunisolar cycles. This mechanism displays 18 indications, including seasonal markers and global cultural celebrations, all synchronised until the year 2099. Limited to just two unique pieces, the 150 Heritage incorporates modern ergonomic innovations, such as a push-piece system optimised for tactile comfort, ensuring this historic tribute remains functionally intuitive.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
