As temperatures rise, the all-black winter uniforms begin to take a back seat as we embrace a season defined by color. Summer style is all about playful pairings, monochromatic moments, and vibrant hues that beautifully complement sun-kissed skin. And with New York basketball fans celebrating a strong playoff run, it’s no surprise that blue and orange have found their way into the seasonal color conversation.

Still, those aren’t the only shades deserving a spot in your wardrobe rotation. This season, we’re gravitating toward unexpected combinations like plum and butter yellow, mint green and midnight blue, cherry red paired with soft pastels, and dreamy creamsicle-inspired palettes that are rich in hue to guide you through the season.

Of course, color is only part of the equation. The fabrics behind each look are what truly bring these combinations to life. From rich crocodile-embossed textures to breathable raffia and lightweight knits, texture adds depth, dimension, and personality. Together, these shades and materials create the perfect recipe for a summer wardrobe that doesn’t sacrifice personal style while still catering to the summer heat. Scroll ahead to see our favorite hues of the season.

    Mint Green

Thanks in part to Matthieu Blazy’s fresh take on color, mint green has emerged as one of fashion’s most coveted shades. Softer than neon but more playful than sage, the pastel hue brings a refreshing energy to summer dressing.

    Chartrusse

This season, chartreuse is proving that bold color can still feel sophisticated. The yellow-green hue’s acid undertones create the perfect contrast against sun-kissed skin, making it an instant standout for summer. Violet

Purple is having a major moment, and rich violet leads the charge. The regal shade adds depth and elegance to any wardrobe while remaining surprisingly versatile.

    Butter Yellow

Butter yellow has spent several seasons dominating mood boards, runways, and social feeds, and its reign is far from over. The creamy, understated hue offers a softer alternative to bright citrus tones while still delivering warmth and vibrancy.

    Ice Blue

Cool, refreshing, and undeniably eye-catching, ice blue mirrors the crystal-clear waters of a tropical escape. Whether you lean into monochromatic styling or pair it with crisp whites, ice blue offers a polished way to incorporate color while channeling a bit of New York basketball spirit.

    Tangerine

Sitting somewhere between orange, peach, and pink, tangerine is the ultimate warm-weather shade. Its vibrant undertones beautifully complement melanin-rich skin, creating a radiant glow that feels tailor-made for summer.
