A Nigerian man has shared a painful experience of how the woman he deeply loved allegedly broke his heart after he returned from a six-month course outside Lagos.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man described the lady as beautiful, loyal, and supportive. According to him, she often turned down advances from wealthy men and publicly identified him as her partner despite his financial struggles.

    In his words, he said:

“What she told me then was, ‘Don’t give me money, just always look good.’ That’s what she told me. Despite the fact that I didn’t have any car, she would tell other men, ‘That’s my man,’ and it gave me so much courage.”

The man explained that he later left Lagos for a cinematography course, which was sponsored by the same woman. However, things reportedly changed before he returned.

He said the lady’s mother had tried to warn him that something was wrong, but he refused to believe it until he got back and discovered that his girlfriend was pregnant.

“I thought the pregnancy was mine, but because of the love her mother had for me, she told me she couldn’t allow me to father another person’s child.

The whole thing really broke me down. I almost jumped from a storey building because of the incident,” he added.

His story has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians sympathising with him, while others questioned his actions during the relationship.

One user wrote, “She even tried, if na me I won’t even wait up till that time.” Another added, “Love is painful when trust is broken like this.”
