    Gift Orban has issued a public apology following a post-match altercation involving supporters of Hellas Verona after their Serie A defeat to AC Milan.

    The incident occurred outside the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi after Verona’s 1-0 loss, with footage of the confrontation quickly spreading on social media.

    Incident escalates after defeat

    Reports indicate the situation began when Orban declined requests for photos and autographs while leaving the stadium.

    Tensions rose when a supporter struck the striker’s car, prompting a reaction from the player that led to a brief physical exchange before intervention from club staff.

    Player accepts responsibility

    Orban later addressed the incident on Instagram, acknowledging his actions and expressing regret.

    “I apologise to the fans for ignoring requests for photos and autographs… supporters deserve respect,” he said.

    The 21-year-old added that he “lost control” during the moment and accepted full responsibility for his behaviour.

    Focus on rebuilding trust

    The forward also committed to learning from the incident, stating his intention to regain the trust of supporters through improved conduct and performances on the pitch.

    He emphasised the importance of fans to the club, describing them as a vital part of Hellas Verona’s identity.
