The program provided federal support to insurers to help prevent sharp premium increases. With that support ending, final 2027 plan prices will not be known until September, but some seniors could face significantly higher monthly costs beginning January 1. Adimika Meadows Arthur, Founder and CEO of HealthTech 4 Medicaid, explains why this matters deeply for Black America. Many Black seniors already manage multiple prescriptions while living on fixed incomes. When every dollar is stretched between groceries, electricity, housing, and medicine, prescription drugs are often the first expense sacrificed. The warning is clear: do not cancel a plan now, do not choose a plan based only on the monthly premium, and pay close attention when annual notices arrive in September. Medicare open enrollment runs from October 15 through December 7. Seniors should compare premiums, deductibles, pharmacy access, and whether every medication they take remains covered. This is more than a technical insurance change. It is another pressure point in a broader healthcare assault that could leave Black seniors choosing between their health and basic survival. #Medicare #MedicarePartD #BlackSeniors #PrescriptionDrugCosts #Healthcare #DonaldTrump #BlackHealth #RolandMartinUnfiltered #BlackStarNetwork Black Star Network Partner: Chapter Chapter and its affiliates are not connected with or endorsed by any government entity or the federal Medicare program.
