In the last few years, travelers have been choosing restful vacations over adventure-packed ones. To meet demand, resorts are following suit, rolling out packages that prioritize sleep, longevity, and mindfulness.

Apple Vacations and Hyatt’s Dreams Resorts & Spas put a unique spin on the trend by centering it on reading. In partnership with Belletrist Book Club and Penguin Random House, Apple Vacations and nine Dreams properties launched Pages in Paradise, a beach read program built into the all-inclusive experience.

“Our goal at Apple Vacations is to help travelers book affordable, effortless, meaningful vacations, and Pages in Paradise was designed to further enrich the all-inclusive experience with partnerships that align with that goal,” says Peyton Clemens, Associate Brand Manager for Apple Vacations. “Now in our third year partnering with Belletrist Book Club and Penguin Random House, it’s been exciting to see how the program has become such a special addition to vacations at Dreams Resorts & Spas, whether guests are connecting with fellow travelers over one of the 100+ curated titles in our resort libraries or enjoying a book-inspired Pages Pour cocktail by the pool.”

At Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya, the program comes to life under the theme Girls Gone Mild. A mini library sits poolside, stocked with beach reads for guests to grab and settle in with. Another library lives in the Preferred Club area, right by the bar, pairing curated titles with food and drinks.

Reading is the anchor, but the program builds a full lineup around it. Mahj with Mandy brings mahjong lessons to the pool deck. Pickleball courts stay busy throughout the day. And a spa menu rounds out the itinerary for guests looking to fully unplug.

It’s a reminder that vacations don’t need excursions stacked on top of excursions. Sometimes all it takes is a poolside cabana, a good book, and a piña colada (the non-alcoholic kind counts too). If unwinding is the goal, mild girl summer might be exactly the trip to book.
