BALTIMORE, MD. – Team members from Securityplus Federal Credit Union volunteered with the Maryland Food Bank on July 23, helping prepare more than 505 meals that will be distributed to students and families throughout Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County schools.

The volunteer effort reflects Securityplus Federal Credit Union's ongoing commitment to strengthening communities and supporting organizations that address critical needs across Maryland. Team members worked alongside Maryland Food Bank staff and fellow volunteers to prepare nutritious meals that will help combat food insecurity among local children and families.

Founded in 1979, the Maryland Food Bank is a nonprofit organization leading the movement to end hunger in Maryland. Through an extensive network of community and organizational partners, the organization supplies food to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, faith-based organizations, and other hunger-relief programs serving Marylanders in need.

Food insecurity continues to affect families across Maryland, making community partnerships and volunteer service essential to meeting the growing need for reliable access to healthy food. By helping prepare more than 505 meals for students and families in Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties, Securityplus volunteers contributed to a larger effort focused on feeding people, strengthening communities, and supporting the well-being of Maryland's youth.

Participants from Securityplus Federal Credit Union included Erin Thompson, Regenia Speaks, Sheryl Phelps, Destinee Smoot, Tymeshia Alleyne, Keshawna Fisher, Jack Schiefer, Obinna Ndukwe, and Danielle Warren, who dedicated their time to supporting the Maryland Food Bank's mission of ending hunger across the state.

The volunteer event also provided Securityplus employees with an opportunity to strengthen teamwork while demonstrating the credit union's commitment to community engagement and service.
