For KENZO’s Fall/Winter 2026, NIGO revisits the Maison’s heritage through a modern Americana lens. Photographed and directed by British photographer Laura Jane Coulson, the visual campaign was captured entirely within La Maison de Kenzo — founder Kenzo Takada’s legendary, hidden 1980s residence tucked away in the Bastille neighborhood of Paris. Conceived originally by Takada as a serene urban oasis complete with bamboo groves, cherry blossom trees, and a thriving koi pond, the residential property acts as an active participant rather than a passive backdrop. The resulting campaign lowers its voice against today's hyper-digital fashion landscape, celebrating a calm lifestyle where home is explored as an internal feeling of authentic comfort rather than just a physical address.Steeped in a quiet, nostalgic mood, the campaign stars American actress Lukita Maxwell (Backrooms), alongside American actor and skateboarder Nico Hiraga, moving fluidly through the home’s airy rooms and sun-drenched gardens with an unforced, lived-in familiarity. Rather than performing hyper-dramatic editorial poses, the duo is captured in candid everyday moments - reading, wandering and sharing space - which injects a gentle lightness and subtle sense of humor into the seasonal presentation. The seasonal range mirrors this emotional grounding by beautifully reconstructing archival motifs with Nigo's signature subcultural sampling methods. Transcending rigid stylistic boundaries, the collection effortlessly loops together Americana checks, Ivy League university codes, Japanese workwear, and precise European tailoring. The relaxed garments favor long lines, dropped shoulders, and loose, comfortable fits designed to promote fluid movement. The tactical color palette is dominated by cozy, natural earth tones—including camel, cream, chocolate brown, and charcoal — punctuated by deliberate, warm pops of mustard, forest green and soft yellow.
