In a viral video, Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has spoken about when to quit music and an idea to build a support centre for highly successful former public figures who may need therapy.

He explained that people who once reached major success often struggle emotionally when public attention fades, despite their achievements and awards.

Mental health support for former stars

In a viral video, Nigerian singer Davido said:

“If there was one thing I could build, I would build a centre for people that have been popular and very successful before, a centre for them to have therapy, because it’s crazy being on top of the world and the next moment you’re not.

Even with soccer, with football, you win all these awards, you win a Champions League, you win World Cup, and people don’t still feel like it’s enough.

Like look at Ronaldo, he’s my very good friend. When he left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, I’m like, they were abusing him so much, after everything he has done.

Do you understand? So like, that’s my greatest fear. I work too hard for me to come and spoil it with something, so I always ask God, like, God, just tell me the right time to, you know? But I think that’s the only thing I’m scared of.”

    Concerns about fame and pressure

Davido said his idea comes from the emotional pressure that follows fame, even after years of success and global recognition.

He referenced how athletes and entertainers can still face criticism despite major achievements.

The singer also expressed personal concern about protecting his career, saying he fears making mistakes that could affect his legacy.
