    ‎A legal practitioner has recounted his encounter with a bank official after receiving ₦20 million in his account.

    ‎Identified as @OgarEmmaOwogeka on X (formely Twitter), the lawyer disclosed that a bank official reached out to him after the credit alert.


    ‎Lawyer Recounts Encounter With Bank Official


    ‎During the phone conversation, the bank official threatened to involve the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

    ‎However, he dared the bank official to report him to the commission and threatened to file a multi-million naira lawsuit.

    ‎ Eventually, the bank official became aware of his profession and reached out to him again, pleading.

    ‎”I am a legal practitioner. He then called me again apologizing for his statement and according to him I should have let him know that I am a lawyer”, He added.


    ‎Story Sparks Reactions


    ‎Meanwhile, the tweet, which has gone viral online has sparked reactions from X users.

    ‎Naked Wire remarked, “Well, my banks have never called me even when I received 40M upwards. What am I doing wrong?”.

    ‎Igwe Of Ebonyin wrote, “But, the law is on the bank’s side. Any amount above 5M into individual account is reported to the EFCC. I have worked at the compliance desk of a bank. So it is even unprofessional for the banker to hint you, assuming the story is true”.

    ‎Zalight added, “I believe say na so dem go Dey blackmail yahoo boys collect money from them”.

    ‎Paytroit stated, “You people can lie sha. No banker would call you that they will report you to EFCC. Any transaction above N5M into individual accounts are automatically reported to NFIU and you are never allowed to discuss with the client”.
