Academy Award winner Daniel Kaluuya is set to reunite with his ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ director Shaka King for Amazon MGM’s forthcoming crime thriller, ‘The Parlay.’ Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor is also circling to star in the feature, according to an initial report from Deadline.

While the official plot synopsis has not yet been disclosed, the project is billed as an action-crime movie. Set up as a new feature for Amazon MGM Studios and Adam McKay’s HyperObject Industries, the film is based on an original spec script by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, who are currently revising the screenplay alongside King.

Serving as producers on the project are Adam McKay and Todd Schulman under their HyperObject Industries banner, Shaka King and Brandon Harris for I’d Watch That, and Daniel Kaluuya via his 59% Productions.

Production timelines and a release window have not yet been announced, but further updates are expected as casting continues to take shape.
