Popular pastor Rev. Kesiena has sparked reactions online after criticising Christians over their voting choices and response to the country’s worsening insecurity.

The clergyman lamented the plight of abducted schoolchildren, noting that dozens of victims, including young children, are still being held captive by kidnappers.

“Forty-six people are still in the bush, including children. One amongst them is a two-year-old. They woke up and went to school, just like our own children went to school, and they kidnapped them,” he said.

He also questioned the priorities of some religious leaders and political figures, arguing that public celebrations and political activities continue despite the suffering of innocent Nigerians.

Rev. Kesiena further spoke about the economic hardship facing citizens, recalling his shock after purchasing fuel for ₦50,000 and reflecting on the burden many Nigerians now carry.

“I was with Pastor Mina when I bought ₦50,000 fuel. It’s because he was there I could not cry. I just looked at my gauge and said, ‘Na ₦50,000 fuel I buy so.’ Na cry wan comot for my throat,” he stated.

The preacher went on to criticise Christians for supporting politicians he believes lack integrity and proven leadership records, insisting that voters should prioritise values and competence when electing leaders.

He also expressed disappointment over what he described as political compromises and poor leadership decisions that have contributed to the nation’s current challenges.

“Christians are cowards. That’s why we have raised Christians that can go and vote for a thief, vote for people who don’t have integrity,” he added.
