Boyz II Men just settled their Air Jordan 11 collab with a coin flip. The moment was caught in the group’s latest behind-the-scenes video, showing them flipping a penny between two final samples.

The twist is that the shoe they’ve been wearing publicly didn’t win. That pair, a black upper with a white mudguard, appeared during their performance at the 2026 MLB All-Star Game in Philadelphia. It won’t be the version moving forward as the final design.

Instead, the coin flip favored a different sample. The winning pair leans into a white upper with a black patent mudguard, along with polka dot detailing around the ankle collar. It’s part of a wider batch of samples the group has been sampling for months, ranging from soundwave graphics to plaid interiors.

This also isn’t the first look Boyz II Men has given fans into how the design came together. They’ve shared prototype after prototype, giving fans a rare look at how a celebrity collab actually gets narrowed down.

Boyz II Men Air Jordan 11

Boyz II Men’s connection to the Air Jordan 11 goes back to 1995. Michael Jordan reportedly joked with designer Tinker Hatfield that someone would eventually wear the shoe with a suit.

That prediction lines up with a longstanding story involving the group. Boyz II Men are often credited as the first to wear the Concord 11 in public, debuting the shoes at the 1996 Grammy Awards. No footage has confirmed the moment happened, but the legend has stuck around for decades.

The Air Jordan 11 itself was built with that formal crossover in mind. Designer Peter Moore drew from tuxedo shoes and patent leather loafers when shaping the silhouette back in 1995. That heritage lines up with Boyz II Men’s polished, dressed-up image from that time.

With a final sample now chosen, the group’s collab moves one step closer to becoming official. A release still hasn’t been announced, but the choice narrows things down after months of back and forth between design directions.
