Boosie Badazz has some questions for people trying to solve crimes from behind their phones. The Baton Rouge rapper recently called out YouTubers and Instagram users who dedicate their platforms to breaking down other people’s alleged criminal activity. According to Boosie, the amount of information people willingly put online could make investigators’ jobs much easier.

“Y’all the golden egg,” Boosie said. He went on to explain that authorities can simply search social media pages for information about whoever they’re investigating.

His bigger issue is how detailed some creators get. Boosie criticized people for publicly naming names, discussing alleged crimes and attempting to connect the dots in situations they aren’t personally involved in.

“Why is you trying to solve a crime on the internet?” he questioned.

Boosie Badazz Questions Why People Even Get Involved

Boosie also challenged the motivation behind the content. He pointed out that the people inserting themselves into someone else’s legal problems isn’t going to get them any reward.

Social media weighed in on Boosie’s thoughts.

“Rappers be surprised when they get 10 years in prison after telling us about felony word for word on their album,” someone commented.

“And where do you think they get the details from my boi?” another person challenged.

For Boosie, however, the conversation goes beyond potentially helping law enforcement. He questioned why social media has become so invested in watching other people fail.

“Why are we so happy with someone else’s downfall?” he asked.

It’s hardly the first time Boosie has voiced concerns about how social media intersects with street culture and criminal cases. This time, he’s putting some of the responsibility on the internet detectives themselves.
