The opening is only the latest development in the ubiquitous Japanese menswear label’s expansion into the US, which has largely taken place in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.Starting today, shoppers can browse and buy BEAMS at a seaside Malibu Rd space that will be open only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 6 PM. The Japanese label quietly announced the move earlier this year, saying, “BEAMS has secured a location in Malibu, California and is currently preparing for the upcoming project,” on BEAMS America’s official site. It comes after the brand’s first-ever BEAMS Plus Limited Store in central LA in 2024 and the later “All Things Japan” pop-up in Summer 2025. Since then, the brand’s American arm has released a plethora of dedicated collabs with labels like Vans and Champion. BEAMS expands its presence at a time when Japanese fashion gains popularity stateside via retailers like UNIQLO and MUJI, as well as trends like Japanese selvedge denim and sashiko stitching. As the nation's cross-cultural influence continues to grow in the West, BEAMS’ recent moves suggest there may be more stores coming in the near future.BEAMS MALIBU23710 Malibu Road, Malibu, CA 90265Fri, Sat, Sun
