A Nigerian man has gone viral on social media after sharing his opinion on why men should stop borrowing money to impress women who ask them for financial help.

Speaking in the video, he said: “But wait, all this my agenda. Una dey make a some kind sacrifice.

Because, tell me why? Girl fit commot shame. Fine girl o, she commot shame take tell you say she no get money whether you fit help her with 100K.

She no get money, she no dey ashame to tell you. You wey be my mumu friend. Because of shame. You no get o. Because of shame.

You dey find money up and down, you dey borrow money to give to a woman wey commot shame tell you say she no get money. Why you self no shamelessly tell her say you no get?”

The video has since gained attention across social media, with many users sharing different opinions on his remarks.

Damilola wrote: “Since April, I don’t have has been my favorite word. Some blocked me, some even insulted me and call me kinda names… I Sha no get!”

Raphael added: “A relationship shouldn’t force anyone into debt just to keep appearances. If she can honestly ask, he should be able to honestly say, ‘I don’t have it.’ Respect should go both ways.”

El Believe wrote: “Na you think say shame dey the girl’s side in the first place. Most women don’t see themselves as people who are supposed to work and make money for themselves.

They feel it’s the duty of a man to make money, and it’s their duty as women to collect the money from you. The girl didn’t remove any shame before asking you for money; she simply did what she believed was the right thing for her to do.”
