    A suspect linked to the death of a student of the College of Nursing, Obowo, Wendy Achumba, has allegedly confessed in a viral video that has sparked widespread reactions online.

    The suspect, identified as Onyema Okonkwo, was reportedly arrested by youths of Umuadara, Umulogho in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State following investigations into the incident.

    Arrest by Community Youths

    According to community sources, the arrest was carried out after growing suspicion and mounting tension within the area.

    The operation was reportedly led by the youth leader, Chidiebere Iweajunwa, who coordinated efforts that led to the suspect’s apprehension.

    Viral Video 

    In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the suspect allegedly narrated how the incident occurred, claiming he visited the victim’s residence with another individual identified as Emmanuel.

    He said: “Around 7pm, me and my friend Emmanuel, who is a phone charger, arrived at her lodge. We noticed nobody was around, We went straight ot her room and asked her Sex, but she refused. When we started forcing her, she injured my face with her nails. We later overpowered her, and raped her. I have sex with her twice while my frind make three times with her, I later attacked her with a wooden object while my friend also stabbed her with a knife.”

    The video has triggered outrage online, with many Nigerians demanding justice for the deceased student.

    Student Was Allegedly Alone

    A community source also revealed that the late student was living alone at the time of the incident, as her roommates were away for their nursing programme experience.

    The source explained: “She was the only one in the house. The owner of the house is based in America. There were three students occupying the house. But two went for their nursing experience, leaving only her in the compound.”
