    A video showing some residents of Oyo State chanting support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) after receiving sachets of Semovita at an outreach event has elicited widespread reactions on social media.

    The clip, which circulated on X, showed residents holding 1kg packs of Semovita while chanting “Jagaban 2027,” a slogan associated with President Bola Tinubu and his supporters ahead of the next election cycle.

    The footage quickly drew criticism from many social media users, who expressed concern about poverty, political patronage, and the influence of material gifts on public political support.

    Some argued that the incident reflects the economic hardship facing many Nigerians, while others questioned whether such gestures could influence voters’ political decisions.
