Italian Serie A side Venezia have reached an agreement with Sevilla to sign Nigeria international Akor Adams in a deal worth €16 million, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer represents another major step in the striker’s career after he revived his fortunes in Spain following a difficult start to life in La Liga.

    Move follows impressive turnaround

Adams joined Sevilla from French club Montpellier but struggled during his first few months at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium after a series of injuries disrupted his progress.

The 26-year-old, however, returned to form during the 2025/26 season and became an important player for the Spanish club. He scored 10 league goals and registered three assists in 32 appearances, establishing himself as one of Sevilla’s most reliable attacking options.

His performances attracted interest from several European clubs during the summer transfer window, with Venezia eventually moving to secure his signature.

The Italian club have now reached a full agreement with Sevilla, with the transfer expected to be completed once the remaining formalities are finalised.

    Venezia strengthen attack

Venezia view Adams as a key addition to their squad as they prepare for the 2026/27 Serie A campaign.

The club believe the Nigerian forward’s physical presence and goalscoring ability will strengthen their attack and improve their chances of competing in the Italian top flight.

For Adams, the move offers another opportunity to continue his development in one of Europe’s leading leagues after successfully overcoming the injury setbacks that affected the early stages of his spell in Spain.

The Super Eagles striker will also hope consistent performances at club level improve his standing in the Nigerian national team ahead of future international competitions.

If the transfer is completed as expected, Adams will become one of Venezia’s biggest investments in recent years, with the club banking on his recent form to justify the €16 million fee and make an immediate impact in Serie A.
