    Talay Riley, a Nigerian-British musician and composer, was tragically stabbed in East London at the age of 35. Family, friends, and music industry luminaries have expressed their respect for the late UK based musician.

    The artist, whose full name was Mark Yinka Orabiyi, was reportedly attacked on Pankhurst Avenue in East London’s Silvertown neighborhood on Friday morning.

    According to reports, emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at 9 a.m., but efforts to save the 35-year-old singer were futile.

    Following the incident, homicide officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command opened a murder investigation to discover the circumstances of his death.

    The singer’s family confirmed the awful news in a statement, calling his death a devastating loss.

    “It is with overwhelming sadness that we confirm that Mark ‘Yinka’ Orabiyi, professionally known as Talay Riley, passed away yesterday morning,” family members said.

    They hailed him as an icredibly skilled musician whose influence extended beyond music, stating that he would be remembered for his wit, generosity, and bright personality.

    The family also expressed gratitude for the assistance and condolences they got from friends, coworkers, and members of the public following the tragedy.

    Talay Riley had a successful music career that lasted more than a decade. He first attracted attention after earning a publishing contract at the age of 18, and he eventually climbed to notoriety through collaborations with various internationally renowned artists.

    He has collaborated and toured with several well-known performers, including Skepta, Usher, Trey Songz, Kehlani, H.E.R., and Khalid.

    Tributes have continued to flood in from throughout the entertainment business.

    His younger brother, Scribz Riley, expressed a heartfelt tribute on social media, characterizing Talay as not only a brother but also a mentor, inspiration, and source of light for many others.

    Stormzy, a popular British rapper, and Craig David, a singer, were among the musicians who publicly expressed their sorrow. Craig David recalled Talay’s wonderful spirit and influence on people around him.

    While investigations continue, authorities have yet to announce any arrests in relation to the death.
