It’s been quite the week for The Game. After premiering a new collaboration with Drake on Thursday night, he swiftly announced his new album, The Documentary III would arrive later that evening. Of course, considering the discourse surrounding his relationship with Drake and Kendrick Lamar, people looked at it as a slight and the number of shots toward the Boogeyman and references to a GNX undoubtedly cemented the perception that he has some sort of friction with his fellow Comptonite.

One line, however, felt a bit more clear-cut than the others. “Me, Drake and a Draco, we the Three Amigos… N***a said pick a side, then I’m picking homicide,” he raps on “No Brakes” ft. Drake.

During a recent interview with Real 92.3 LA, he explained that he meant that he didn’t need to pick sides in this feud. “It’s going to be a tennis match for everything that you tell me, right? So it’s like, with picking a side, I don’t got to pick a side,” he said. The Game then provided a more existential theory to the bar, explaining that all things that are living will eventually die. “When I say pick a side, pick homicide. Dont–stop playin’ with me, man,” he added. The Game

The Game then explained that he’s remained in Los Angeles throughout his career and despite the number of people who’ve died to the streets, he never moved away.

Ultimately, The Game’s made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t have any beef or ill feelings toward Kendrick Lamar. During a speech at his release party, Game explained how he selflessly helped out people like Kendrick in the past but isn’t able to reach them anymore. Meanwhile, he felt like he and Drake had a strong relationship separately that he didn’t feel like he could turn his back on out of loyalty.
