After nearly four decades,‘A Different World’ is officially making its return.

Netflix has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel series, which is set to premiere on September 24.

The new series brings back original stars Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison, reprising their roles as Whitley Gilbert and Dwayne Wayne. This time, the story centers on their daughter, Deborah Wayne, played by Maleah Joi Moon

In the trailer, viewers can spot Deborah sporting Dwayne Wayne’s signature flip-up glasses, a nostalgic nod to one of television’s most beloved characters.

The sequel returns viewers to Hillman College, where a new group of students is stepping onto campus while familiar faces make their way back home.

In addition to Guy and Hardison, several original cast members are set to return, including Cree Summer and Darryl M. Bell, bringing even more nostalgia to the franchise that inspired many to attend HBCUs.

The series was filmed in Atlanta and reportedly features scenes shot on the campuses of Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, and Morehouse College, adding to the series theme of HBCU pride and traditions.
