Nigeria international Terem Moffi is set to undergo a medical ahead of a permanent transfer to Hamburger SV after the Bundesliga club reached an agreement with OGC Nice for his signature.

According to transfer journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Hamburg and Nice have agreed a deal worth €2 million, with an additional €500,000 in performance-related bonuses.

The 27-year-old forward is also reported to have agreed personal terms and is expected to sign a contract running until 2029.

Medical scheduled as deal nears completion

Moffi is expected to complete his medical examinations on Saturday before finalising the move to the German club.

The transfer would bring an end to his spell at Nice, where he made 72 appearances across all competitions, scoring 24 goals and providing five assists.

Hamburg view the Nigerian striker as an important addition to their attacking options as they prepare for the new Bundesliga campaign.

The move represents a fresh opportunity for Moffi to revive his career after a challenging period in France.

The Super Eagles forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Portuguese champions Porto, where he scored two goals and registered one assist in 15 appearances.

Although his impact was limited, he helped Porto secure the Liga Portugal title, their first league championship since 2022.

Before joining Nice, Moffi established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most dangerous forwards during his time at Lorient, where he scored 35 goals in 90 appearances.

His rise in European football began in Lithuania with Riteriai, where he netted 21 goals in 32 matches, before a brief but productive spell at Belgian side Kortrijk.
