Iconic activist, author and ‘me too’ Movement founder Tarana Burke joins Sarah Jones to discuss one of America’s biggest problems: the refusal to grow beyond its history and current perpetuation of violence, including sexual violence. Tarana has solutions, from exploring this country’s true history of unacknowledged survivors, to galvanizing the 60 million survivors in the US into a powerful voting block (which anyone identifying as a survivor can join at survivorsvote.org)—plus she reminds us to lean into our JOY. One tip: try balancing out the hard work with karaoke Fridays! This episode was executive-produced by Sarah Jones. Fiona Pestana is our producer. Johanna Case is our video editor, and Peter Geiser is our audio engineer. Kennedy Hill is our digital strategist. Thank you to Gina Delvac for production support.
