    Summary

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $1 billion USD internationally faster than any film except Avengers: EndgameThe movie has reached $1.67 billion USD worldwide in just 12 days of releaseIt now ranks as the biggest movie of the year and the 12th-highest-grossing release of all time

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the second-fastest film ever to reach $1 billion USD at the international box office, a milestone only Avengers: Endgame hit at a quicker clip back in 2019. Twelve days into its run, Tom Holland's latest turn as the web-slinger has piled up $1.67 billion USD worldwide, split between $1.01 billion overseas and $655 million at home. The pace says as much about Spider-Man's staying power as it does about this particular film. Peter Parker has been one of the most bankable figures in Hollywood for more than two decades, anchoring multiple live-action franchises across different studios and eras, and Brand New Day is proof the appetite hasn't cooled. Part of that comes down to timing. This is Holland's fourth solo adventure as the character but his first big-screen Spider-Man appearance since 2021's No Way Home, and the near five-year gap clearly stoked demand. The second weekend numbers underline how rare this run is. The film added $236 million USD overseas and $145 million USD domestically in frame two, hauls that would be strong opening weekends for most releases, let alone second-weekend totals. China leads all international markets with $186.7 million USD to date, followed by the United Kingdom at $87.4 million USD and Mexico at $65.8 million USD.Now the conversation turns to how high it can go. With comic book fans stacking repeat viewings and little competition on the calendar ahead, Brand New Day is closing in on $2 billion USD worldwide, a tier only seven films have ever reached, among them Avatar, Avengers: Endgame and Titanic. Having already claimed the year's box office crown and a top-12 spot on the all-time chart, Holland's Spider-Man looks set to keep climbing well into the fall.
