Following days of speculation regarding his transition to the broadcast booth, the 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback confirmed his decision via a heartfelt video posted to social media on Wednesday. Stepping away from the gridiron after an impressive 14-season run, Wilson will join the network's flagship The NFL Today pregame show as an analyst, taking over the seat recently vacated by Matt Ryan."As I enter this next chapter with CBS Sports and 'The NFL Today,' I'm so blessed to continue doing what I love most -- being around the greatest game in the world," Wilson stated in his three-minute farewell video. The quarterback also took time to thank his supporters, teammates, and former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, noting his gratitude for the franchise taking a chance on a "5-11 Black kid from Richmond, Virginia."Drafted by Seattle in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft, Wilson's career was defined by immediate and sustained success. He spent his first decade with the Seahawks, famously leading the team to its first-ever Super Bowl championship in 2013. Over the course of 14 seasons—which included stints with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants—Wilson amassed 46,966 passing yards and 353 touchdown passes. Cementing his elite status, he remains the only player in NFL history to record at least 30 touchdown passes and fewer than 15 interceptions in four consecutive seasons.
