The Redmi 14C and Redmi 15C are Xiaomi’s budget phones in the C series, released a year apart. Both phones share the same MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset. The main differences are in battery, charging speed, durability, screen brightness, and camera.

This guide compares their prices, specs, and features so you can decide which one offers better value for your money.

Redmi 14C vs 15C price in Nigeria

Prices for both phones change frequently due to the naira-to-dollar exchange rate. Store prices also differ, so treat these figures as a guide rather than fixed.

Redmi 15C prices (by RAM and storage):

    • 4GB/128GB: from ₦130,900 up to ₦173,013, depending on the store
    • 6GB/128GB: from ₦143,900 up to ₦199,300
    • 8GB/256GB: from ₦168,900 up to ₦230,806

Redmi 14C prices (by RAM and storage):

    • 4GB/128GB: from ₦125,600 up to ₦134,900
    • 6GB/128GB: from ₦142,600 up to ₦146,600
    • 8GB/256GB: from ₦157,600 up to ₦162,600

Stock levels matter too. The Redmi 14C is getting harder to find, especially on Jumia, and some stores now sell it as limited stock or as a UK-used unit. The Redmi 15C is widely available brand-new on Jumia, Slot, Konga, and Jiji.

On average, the Redmi 15C costs about ₦15,000 to ₦40,000 more than the Redmi 14C for the same RAM and storage.

Redmi 14C vs 15C specs compared

    1. Design and build

    • The Redmi 14C measures 171.9 x 77.8 x 8.2mm and weighs between 204g and 211g, depending on the colour.
    • The Redmi 15C measures 171.6 x 79.5 x 8.0mm and weighs 205g.
    • The Redmi 14C carries an IP52 rating, which protects it from light splashes and dust.
    • The Redmi 15C carries an IP64 rating, which protects it from dust and stronger water splashes. This is a genuine upgrade in durability.

    2. Display

    • Both phones use a 120Hz IPS LCD screen.
    • The Redmi 14C has a 6.88-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels.
    • The Redmi 15C has a slightly bigger 6.9-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels.
    • The Redmi 15C is brighter. It reaches up to 810 nits at peak brightness, while the Redmi 14C peaks at 600 nits.

    3. Performance

Both phones run on the same MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset, paired with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. You should not expect any speed improvements when moving from the Redmi 14C to the Redmi 15C.

Storage and RAM options are close as well:

    • Redmi 14C: 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, 4GB/256GB, and 8GB/256GB
    • Redmi 15C: 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, 4GB/256GB, and 8GB/256GB

Both phones support memory extension up to 16GB and have a dedicated microSD card slot for extra storage.

    4. Camera

Both phones have a 50MP main rear camera with an extra depth lens. This is where the comparison flips in favour of the older phone.

    • The Redmi 14C has a 13MP selfie camera.
    • The Redmi 15C has an 8MP selfie camera.

This means the Redmi 15C took a step back in the front-camera department. If selfies and video calls matter to you, factor this into your decision.

    5. Battery and charging

    • The Redmi 14C has a 5,160mAh battery with 18W charging.
    • The Redmi 15C has a 6,000mAh battery with 33W charging.

This is the biggest upgrade the Redmi 15C offers. You get a larger battery and much faster charging. Neither phone comes with a charger in the box, so you will need a compatible charger if you don’t already have one.

    6. Software and updates

    • The Redmi 14C ships with Android 14 on HyperOS and gets 2 major OS upgrades plus 4 years of security updates.
    • The Redmi 15C ships with Android 15 on HyperOS 2 and gets 4 major OS upgrades plus 6 years of security updates.

This means the Redmi 15C will be supported longer, which matters if you plan to keep your phone for several years.

    Which one should you buy?

Pick the Redmi 15C if you want a bigger battery, faster charging, better durability, and longer software support. Most buyers should go with the Redmi 15C, since it costs a little more but offers better long-term value.

Pick the Redmi 14C if you find it at a noticeably lower price, or if the better selfie camera matters more to you than battery life.

Neither phone will feel faster than the other, since they share the same chipset. If performance and smooth multitasking matter most, choose the 6GB or 8GB RAM option on either phone instead of paying more for the newer model.

Where to buy Redmi 14C and Redmi 15C in Nigeria

You can buy the Redmi 15C brand new from Jumia, Slot, Konga, and Jiji. It is also available in physical stores across Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Kano, Kaduna, and Ibadan.

The Redmi 14C is still available on Slot, Konga, and Jiji, both new and UK-used. Stock is limited on some platforms, and Jumia currently does not list it.

Both phones come with a one-year Xiaomi warranty when bought from an authorised retailer. If you are buying from Jiji, check the IMEI and inspect the phone physically before you pay.
