Robinson says too many people treat politics like a basketball game or theater, watching from the outside while others make the decisions. He argues that visibility and participation matter, but they do not become power until people organize collectively and build leverage. Robinson explains that the right wing has spent years promoting its voices, funding its media ecosystem and changing the incentives for political leaders. He says progressives need stronger narrative infrastructure, better campaigns and more independent platforms capable of reaching people, activating them and sustaining political engagement over time. He also warns that corporations often use dialogue to avoid negotiation. Robinson recounts refusing to sign an NDA during meetings with Facebook because he wanted the freedom to explain what actually happens inside those rooms. He says real negotiation begins only when movements have enough leverage to force corporations and institutions to do things they do not want to do. The conversation also examines donor power, corporate money and movement strategy. Robinson says some funding comes with strings that weaken unapologetic demands, while bad strategy cannot be covered up with money.
