Nike has officially announced an upcoming footwear and apparel collection inspired by the world-renowned manga franchise One Piece. Blending sportswear heritage with global pop culture, the partnership translates key lore from the storyline into specialized footwear executions and co-branded apparel. At the center of the collection are three distinct colorways of the Nike Air Max Plus featuring completely retooled uppers exclusive to the partnership. Each design takes direct inspiration from specific Devil Fruits found within the storyline: the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi, and Mera Mera no Mi. "We were inspired by the superhuman abilities that are unleashed when One Piece characters eat the Devil Fruits, much like the feeling an athlete has when they put on a pair of Nikes," said Nick Remlinger, GM of Energy Gaming at Nike. The apparel lineup complements the footwear with Air Max Plus jerseys and caps pulled directly from the Nike archives. T-shirts incorporate classic Nike ad styling merged with manga illustrations alongside the Jolly Roger graphic drawn by Monkey D. Luffy. The range is rounded out by a specialized vest inspired by the lore of the Devil Fruits, which render those who eat them unable to swim. The Nike x One Piece collection debuts through special pop-up and retail experiences starting September 4, 2026, in Tokyo, releasing at HBX on September 12, followed by a global release on September 25, 2026, via SNKRS.
