What was it like to be in the room with the luminaries of the Harlem Renaissance? The late, legendary filmmaker William Greaves offers an intimate look into that artistic magic in his final work, ‘Once Upon A Time In Harlem,’ completed by his family.

Dubbed his most significant project, the documentary—co-directed with his son David Greaves and co-produced by his granddaughter Liani Greaves and Anne de Mare—centers on the historic 1972 gathering he arranged with neighborhood legends at Duke Ellington’s apartment.

Ahead of the film’s release, NEON has debuted the official trailer and poster. Take a look at them here. ‘Once Upon A Time In Harlem’ arrives in select theaters this fall on October 16.
