A Nigerian man expresses frustration over the increasing cost of food items, revealing that he purchased only eight tomatoes for ₦1,000 at a market in Yaba, Lagos.

In a viral video, the man questioned how ordinary Nigerians, particularly those with large families, are expected to cope with the soaring prices of basic food items.

He lamented that essential cooking ingredients such as tomatoes, pepper, and onions have become increasingly expensive and difficult for many households to afford.

The visibly upset resident also criticised the broader economic situation, pointing to rising living costs and hardship facing many Nigerians.

He argued that the growing cost of necessities is placing significant pressure on families already struggling to make ends meet.

    His words …

“Nigerians, this video that I’m about to make, I didn’t want to make it but out of annoyance I’m here to make this video because I’m not happy. This 8 pieces of tomatoes I bought it for N1000 this morning at Yaba. 8 pieces of tomatoes for one thousand Naira.

Now tell me, a family of 8, how many of these tomatoes are they going to buy to feed their family for just one day.

Normally on a normal day, to eat for sachets of noodles, you need this quantity of tomatoes. Whoever is doing us this thing in this country called Nigeria. It will never be w£ll with you. Whoever is defending you on air, online and offline, it w!ll never be w£ll with them…..”
