A lady has recounted how getting married and becoming pregnant disrupted a birthday tradition she shared with her twin brother.

The woman explained that she and her twin had always taken studio photographs together to mark their birthdays.

According to her, they had taken one of such pictures in 2022 for their 26th birthday, unaware that she would get married later that year.

However, things changed when their 27th birthday approached. At the time, she was already pregnant, although her twin brother was unaware of the pregnancy.

She said her twin called to ask when they would go for their usual birthday photos, but she told him she would first discuss it with her husband.

    Marriage changed their birthday plans

The lady said she informed her husband about the proposed photoshoot, but his reaction made her question whether pregnancy hormones were influencing her decision.

She recalled that she told her twin the photoshoot would not be possible because she was now married.

The woman said the development helped her twin realise how significantly marriage could change a person’s life within a short period.

She, however, questioned whether being married should prevent her from continuing the special birthday tradition with her twin.

Lady seeks opinions over birthday tradition

Sharing her thoughts, the woman said she personally did not believe there was anything wrong with taking birthday pictures with her twin despite being married.

She asked people whether they agreed with her position or considered the photoshoot inappropriate now that she is married.

Her experience has since highlighted the sometimes unexpected ways marriage and changing family circumstances can affect long-standing traditions between siblings.
