On Sunday, Manchester was painted blue to celebrate Manchester City Women’s victory in the 2025/26 Women’s Super League – the Club’s first title win in exactly a decade. Through an impressive 13-match winning streak and record-breaking total of 58 goals, the WSL victory has been looming for weeks, which culminated in a trophy-lifting ceremony following the team’s win against West Ham last Saturday. In a statement on the Club’s website, Manchester City Women captain Alex Greenwood shared, “This success has come from ten months of hard work on and off the pitch. We’ve always believed we’re capable of winning the WSL, but it hasn’t been handed to us on a plate – it’s the result of an incredible team effort and bond that simply can’t be put into words.”Giving the players a celebration worthy of their dedication, the recent homecoming party, presented by PUMA, took place at the city’s landmark Albert Hall, where they celebrated with over a thousand fans. The team were also presented with one-of-one jackets made by Vintage Threads from this year’s jerseys while DJ collective Girls Don’t Sync performed alongside the staged trophy. As well as commemorating the combined efforts of the team, the party also celebrated the players' individual triumphs. Head coach Andrée Jeglertz got his time in the spotlight as he marked becoming only the second manager in WSL history to win the title in his first season at the club. He expressed, “In the good moments and the bad, [the team] have always stuck together and found a way to win – something that all great champions do. But this isn’t the end of the road. We still have plenty to fight for this season and in the coming years. I’m excited by what the future holds for this amazing group of players and this fantastic club.”To find out more about Manchester City Women’s WSL title, upcoming fixtures, and tickets to the games head to its website now.
