Nigeria winger Moses Simon could begin the new season under a different manager, with former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior emerging as the leading candidate to take charge of Paris FC.

The French club is considering a coaching change despite Antoine Kombouaré guiding the team to an 11th-place finish after their return to the French top flight for the first time in more than 40 years.

Paris FC’s hierarchy is reportedly determined to push for European qualification and believes Rosenior is the right coach to lead the club’s next phase of development.

    Paris FC delays pre-season plans

According to French outlet L’Équipe, Rosenior has already held talks with Paris FC over the position. The discussions have prompted the club to postpone the start of pre-season preparations.

Training was initially scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 1, but the club has delayed players’ return while negotiations continue over the managerial appointment.

Rosenior, 41, is understood to be the frontrunner to replace Kombouaré if the club decides to make a change.

    Fresh chapter for Simon

A managerial switch would mark the end of a successful working relationship between Simon and Kombouaré.

The Super Eagles winger spent five seasons under the experienced coach at Nantes between 2021 and 2025 before the pair reunited at Paris FC in 2026.

Simon has remained one of the club’s key attacking players, and a new coach could bring a different tactical approach as Paris FC looks to establish itself in Ligue 1.

Rosenior has earned praise for his coaching work in England and France, building a reputation as one of the game’s promising young managers. His experience spans the Premier League, the English Football League and French football.

If appointed, he would inherit a Paris FC side aiming to build on last season’s progress and challenge for a place in European competition.
