Spanning from the May Day holiday through late May, Hypebeast’s dual offline initiatives— Hypebeast Flea and the newly debuted Hypedrive—took over Taikoo Li Julong Wan Guangzhou. Across nearly a month of community-driven festivities, this historic Chongkou Warehouse district was transformed into the ultimate hub for creativity, connection, and passion, bridging the gap between streetwear archives, classic sports cars, and analog vinyl. On the eve of the market, we set the energy high with an exclusive opening party, celebrating the community with close friends, including Sun Yang and Xiao Pi Hai. Behind the decks, veteran Hong Kong DJ Frankie Lam sent waves through the crowd with a curated Cantopop set. Meanwhile, multi-disciplinary artist Katol brought live, impromptu art creation to the space, while interactive workshops hosted by ROARINGWILD and Birth of Royal Child allowed guests to experience the joy of hands-on creation.Hypebeast Flea Guangzhou: An Immersive MarketMoving into the main event, creative apparel labels from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) formed the backbone of the market. Renowned brands like THE ARTISTE, Club Stubborn, OLDSOILISM, WMT Chrono club, LIVIN' MACAU, ROARINGWILD, Spanner Hardware®, and Vangolf brought their latest collections and exclusive drops, showcasing the distinct style of the GBA fashion scene. Adding an element of archive hunting, Hong Kong’s legendary vintage institutions Midwest Vintage and WHITE WHALE & CO. offered attendees the thrill of uncovering rare archival pieces. The international lineup was equally formidable, featuring staples like FUTUREMADE STUDIO, MADFRENZY, Netflix, GENTLEWOMAN, MATTER MAKERS, adidas and Birth of Royal Child, all drawing massive crowds. The lifestyle and art-toy sectors offered an even more diverse selection, with curated spaces from New Era, Artdicted, LeeeeeToy, FAT COFFEE WITH, Raw Emotions, HAMCUS, Plastic Friends, and Well Done Shop.Beyond the standard booths, the massive "Lost in Apple" installation by Green House Café became the undeniable centerpiece photo-op, while an exhibition showcasing the exclusive Hypebeast 20th Anniversary collaborative T-shirt series generated significant buzz. The star-studded F&B lineup—comprising TREBLE COFFEE, White Soup Shop, Hope & Sesame, WONDERYELL, FULUKU RAMEN and Hennessy—kept everyone fueled.Interactive experiences ran nonstop alongside the market. A series of panel talks featured thought leaders like Xiao Pi Hai, Jackal, Tuff, Anson, Kenkori, Jim Yan, and John, who shared insights into running and community building. Creativity remained a core theme as New Era teamed up with ROARINGWILD and Xiao Pi Hai for custom DIY workshops, a maker spirit that carried over into sessions by ROARINGWILD and Well Done Shop. Musically, Larvae and Replica.mp3 followed Frankie Lam’s opening night performance, steering the vibe with stellar DJ sets across consecutive nights.Outside, the focus shifted to movement. The Block Smash, adidas, and Pumpplus led our community on an energetic riverside run. SHINING brought high-octane energy with a bicycle assembly challenge, while lululemon hosted a deeply relaxing sunset yoga session. Rounding out the riverside activations was Vangolf's "Mini Golf" challenge, leaving the suspense of its grand prize for the next major gathering.Hypedrive Guangzhou: Automotive Aesthetics Meet Vinyl CultureAs the seven-day Hypebeast Flea drew to a close, Hypedrive—a brand-new offline experience originating from New York—naturally took the baton. Across two consecutive weekends starting May 16, the spotlight shifted from streetwear to the intersection of mechanical aesthetics and physical music formats beneath the very same historic red-brick facades.Anchored by the theme "Cars and Vinyl," the event blended immersive speed, live analog music, and raw automotive lifestyle culture into a high-energy weekend for enthusiasts across the GBA.Weaving through the iconic architecture, curated booths turned street culture into an interactive reality. RDM PSYCHO brought a heavy dose of hardcore custom Harley-Davidson culture, while Open Dialogue joined forces with Tyson Yoshi’s brand TRIPLET to debut an exclusive "Racing Club" themed tee. Color-change wrap pioneer Inozetek continuously pushed the boundaries of automotive visuals, while professional racing simulators from CAMMUS gave motorsports enthusiasts a firsthand taste of track racing. This multifaceted energy continued to expand outward. HAMCUS’s signature art toys and a custom claw machine became must-visit interactive landmarks, while COSTS delivered their trademark high-texture retail space. The legendary North American automotive lifestyle collective, Purist Group, brought their ethos of brotherhood and community charity to the GBA. Hong Kong's Raw Emotions transported a traditional garage market into the venue, where romantic floral arrangements collided with cold, raw engines inside the RAWEMOCASA conceptual space. Of course, the warmth of analog sound filled the air; ANTH and DISC JOKER joined forces to build a vinyl sanctuary, using the personal collection of founder Trace to lay down the perfect youth culture soundtrack.Naturally, all eyes eventually gravitated toward the curated line-up of eight legendary, history-making vehicles on display. This includes a pristine white Toyota Supra A80, preserving a cross-oceanic tribute to the late Paul Walker; a legendary Nissan GT-R R35, covered in signatures from global automotive icons and an ultra-rare Nissan Z in Guangzhou. The historic pairing of the Porsche 918 Spyder and the McLaren P1—two members of the modern hypercar "Holy Trinity"—whose exposed carbon fiber monocoques and roaring V8 power delivery pushed sensory limits.Other notable standouts include the Hana x TBC x Inozetek collaborative GT-R R35 Nismo wrapped in avocado green, a classic Lamborghini Diablo GT sporting a custom black-and-white gradient wrap and a vintage Volkswagen Santana, which contemporary artist whyyy used as a canvas for a live ink-wash graffiti session.Beyond the heavy visual stimulation, community-led dialogues ran through all four days. On day one's Panel Talk stage, CCHAN, Catherine, and Ya Bao sat down to discuss the "analog romance" found within mechanical gearboxes and vinyl records. Over the weekend, players hand-stamped custom leather keychains at the RDM workshop, or learned how to manipulate rhythms at the ANTH and DISC JOKER DJ workshop. At golden hour, the banks of the Pearl River echoed with the crisp clicks of DamLab kendamas and a light-footed football activation hosted by FOOTYGIRLS. As night fell, the exclusive DJ Night curated by ANTH fully ignited the red-brick warehouses, with high-velocity UK Garage, Phonk, and industrial Techno resonating in perfect harmony with the multi-million-dollar hypercars parked nearby. To Be Continued...From the opening chords of the Hypebeast Flea kick-off party to the final fade of roaring engines on Hypedrive’s closing weekend, Hypebeast’s month-long dual takeover has officially come to a successful end. Ultimately, these two landmark events were never just about cold machinery or consumer products; they were about the real, passionate faces who came together to create connections. Thank you to the tens of thousands of you who traveled from across the Greater Bay Area and beyond. The story of our community is only just beginning.
