SummaryGerald Charles debuts the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar, its most complex watch since the brand's relaunchFeatures include an asymmetrical micro-rotor caliber, a three-counter display and 100 meters of water resistanceOffered in fumé grille and open-worked sapphire dials, with a titanium case and Darkblast® finishGerald Charles has lifted the curtains to the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar, its most complicated timepiece since the brand's modern revival in 2011. Developed entirely in-house, the watch introduces the first asymmetrical perpetual calendar caliber with a micro-rotor and bespoke three-counter display.True to the "No Compromise" philosophy laid down by founder Gérald Genta, this ultra-modern watch is a testament to the Maison's commitment to blending sculptural codes with technical mastery. The resulting piece is a perfect symbiosis of design and engineering, boasting a three-counter display that indicates the day, date, month, leap year and an exceptionally accurate moonphase mechanically programmed for over 100 years.Housed in a 40mm Grade 5 titanium case, the waMasterlink Perpetual Calendar maintains an incredibly versatile profile, measuring just 10mm thick and weighing a mere 97 grams. The timepiece is available in two striking variations: one featuring a two-level fumé dial with a vertical cut-out "grille" construction, and an open-worked sapphire dial that reveals the exquisitely decorated baseplate and bridges. The decoration itself tells the story of Gerald Charles, with straight and curved Geneva stripes mapping out the streets of Geneva, the River Rhône, and Lake Léman. The case and integrated titanium bracelet also showcase the brand's proprietary "Darkblast®" finish — an evolution of sand-blasting that provides a dark, scratch-resistant, velvet-like surface.Despite its complex geometry, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar achieves a water resistance of 100 meters, making it a highly robust, high-complication piece. This feat required the development of bespoke, patented gaskets to seal the watch's asymmetrical sapphire crystal case back. Designed according to the brand's Ergonteq® principles for optimal wrist comfort, the watch is adjusted via four user-friendly pushers located on the case flanks.Gerald Charles' Masterlink Perpetual Calendar is set to debut at the upcoming edition of Watches & Wonders Geneva, where it'll be on view alongside two other newly revealed novelties.
