A man identified as Hayes Senta has alleged that political forces in Abuja are planning to prevent Peter Obi and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from campaigning in some states ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Senta made the allegation in a video shared on social media, claiming that Lagos, Rivers and Anambra were specifically mentioned in an alleged directive.

    Senta alleges campaign restrictions

According to Senta, the alleged instruction is that Obi and the NDC should not be allowed to campaign in any state, with particular attention on the three states.

He claimed that security agencies could be used to frustrate Obi’s campaign activities, including preventing venues from being allocated to him in Anambra State.

Senta questioned why Obi would be prevented from campaigning in Anambra, his home state, when the state was peaceful.

He also alleged that opposition supporters had already faced attacks in Rivers State.

As a matter of fact, in River State, NDC members were attacked. Remember I told us about guarding that office. Guarding the obedient office too.”

Senta further claimed that efforts were being made to stop opposition groups from campaigning in Lagos, mentioning MC Olumo in connection with the alleged preparations.

MC Olumo, all of them are gearing up to make sure that nobody will campaign in Lagos. Nobody will campaign in Lagos. The same system they used the other time, the same system they are going to use again this time.”

    Calls for resistance

Reacting to the alleged development, Senta called on Obi’s supporters, the Obidient movement, NDC members and Kwankwasiyya supporters to resist any attempt to restrict their campaign activities.

He repeatedly urged supporters to respond forcefully to what he described as political intimidation, saying nobody had a monopoly on what he called “madness”.

We are all Nigerians and nobody have the monopoly of madness. I’ve said this many times. How can anybody give instruction for Peter Obi not to campaign in any state in Nigeria?”

He argued that Nigerians should not remain silent if political rights were being threatened.

Senta also criticised what he described as the silence of prominent politicians and statesmen, saying the future of Nigeria depended on younger Nigerians taking action.

    Criticises Tinubu supporters

Senta accused politicians across the country of moving towards President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He argued that Nigerians who support Tinubu’s administration do not have the country’s interests at heart.

So anybody that is supporting Tinubu does not mean well for Nigerians. Whoever you are, whoever you are, anybody that is supporting APC and Tinubu is an enemy of Nigeria, a very great enemy of Nigeria and should not be allowed to come back.”

He also called on Nigerians to reject politicians who, according to him, had failed to protect the country’s interests.

    Describes campaign as a battle

Senta described the forthcoming campaign as a major battle to “rescue” Nigeria, urging supporters to prepare for what he portrayed as a tense election season.

So I’m telling us to get ready because this campaign is going to be war. And this war will fight to the end to rescue our nation, to rescue Nigeria because Nigeria is almost at the brink of abyss.”

He also spoke about Nigeria’s independence, arguing that political freedom must be defended and that citizens should not be afraid to speak against what they consider wrongdoing.

Senta concluded by urging Nigerians and opposition supporters to remain prepared.

Please be prepared. Be prepared. Be prepared. Be prepared, I say again. May God bless you and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
