Based on the multi-million-selling manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, this freshly reimagined production will land at London’s Barbican Theatre for a strictly limited six-week engagement running from July 30 to September 12, 2026.Following successful stagings in Japan and international productions, the show will now introduce UK audiences to its dark, thought-provoking narrative. Developed in close collaboration with the original Japanese producers at HoriPro, this version features a revised script and newly written songs layered over the acclaimed original score by Tony-, Grammy- and Emmy-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn. The production continues to explore the moral dilemmas at the heart of the original story, following Light Yagami’s discovery of the supernatural notebook that allows him to decide who lives and dies. The London cast features Joaquin Pedro Valdes as Light Yagami, Dean John-Wilson as Detective L and Frances Mayli McCann as Misa Amane, alongside Adam Pascal as Ryuk. This ensemble brings together West End veterans and international talent to deliver a fresh interpretation of the musical’s themes of justice, obsession and power.Tickets for Death Note the Musical are officially on sale now through the Barbican's official website.
