    Sumerian Pictures has officially released the first teaser trailer for Josephine, the acclaimed psychological thriller starring Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan. The film marks the directorial effort of writer-director Beth de Araújo and arrives following a competitive seven-figure festival acquisition.Rooted in Araújo’s lived experiences, the work of autobiographical fiction follows parents (Tatum and Chan) who struggle to navigate the aftermath of a traumatic event while supporting their eight-year-old daughter, Josephine (newcomer Mason Reeves), after she witnesses a crime in Golden Gate Park. The production emerged as a major standout at the Sundance Film Festival, where it claimed both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award—a dual achievement previously held by Oscar-winning films such as CODA and Minari.Following its premiere, the feature screened in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival and is set to continue its rollout at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film is produced by Araújo, Tatum, Chan, David Kaplan, Josh Peters, Marina Stabile, Mark H. Rapaport, and Crystine Zhang, with Emanuel Nuñez and Jordan Rapaport serving as executive producers.Josephine officially opens in theaters on November 20.
