Tuesday Barnes knows because she has done it both ways: entering graduate school directly after undergrad, stepping away, building a career, and later returning to pursue her doctorate at Morgan State University with an entirely different understanding of what she needed. So before another graduating senior assumes the next logical step is another degree, this episode asks a harder question: Who do you expect to become on the other side of it—and do you actually want to meet that person? Tosin and Tuesday get into money, mentorship, prestige, funding, isolation, career experience, calling, community, and what students often misunderstand before beginning graduate school.
